BPA FREE IS THE WAY TO BE
The movement away from Plastic Bottles. Alternatives such as Aluminum and Glass are on the rise.
Why?!
BPA - Bisphenol A is a structural component of modern plastics that are used in the packaging of products, canned foods, and mainly bottled water.
What makes BPA Harmful?
The danger of BPA lies in its exposure to extreme heat or cold. Extreme temperatures cause the BPA to contaminate the products that it packages. Packaging containing BPA is so widespread that the average person is affected unknowingly.
According to Madesafe.org, “BPA in an endocrine disrupting chemical, meaning it can interfere with hormone levels and hormonal communication. Particularly, BPA impacts estrogen receptors in the body, and exposure to it is linked to inflammation, ovarian and breast diseases, female and male infertility, early puberty, breast cancer, childhood neurological disorders, and more.”
How to Avoid BPA:
Avoid plastic items marked with recycle codes of 3 and 7* because they may contain BPA. When plastic cannot be avoided, choose recycling codes 1, 2, 4, and 5, as these are less toxic.
Also, look for packaging made of glass, aluminum, steel, and porcelain rather than plastic.
